Raley's Food for Families Dinner at The Maples

Imagine dining on a working ranch under the stars with an incredible group of over 300 people… That is just what our amazing clients over at Raley’s envisioned when planning their annual Food for Families dinner event. Produced by Danielle Roe Events, the evening infused the natural beauty of The Maples venue with modern touches such as personalized acrylic signage, mixed metals, copper piping details, marble-print linens, lush greenery and florals, and a perfect infusion of industrial black details as a striking addition to the color palette. Two custom gold-and-acrylic towering pillars filled with florals greeted gusts at the the gorgeous historic entrance to The Maples. Champagne was provided upon entry, and live music serenaded the cocktail hour space. A delicious dinner was served by Randy Peters Catering to all 300+ guests at a mixed collection of farm tables and rounds, while candlelight, market lights, and music provided by the one and only Mr. DJ Event Services added to the ambience of the special evening. These acrylic and gold pillars are our Pinterest dreams come to life. Our team loved the modern statement they made to compliment the traditional design of The Maples gorgeous gated entrance. Be sure to scroll through because you won’t want to miss the close up of this totally custom pillar design.

The far reaching branch of this longstanding oak made for the perfect backdrop to compliment the champagne entry for guests and establish the theme of the evening. Our team worked diligently to not harm this arbor beauty with the installation of our signage and lettering, and we were beyond thrilled with the results. Scroll through these pictures to catch more of the custom acrylic signage in copper pipe frames, as well as the rustic area which was decorated with cocktail tables and infused with live music which made for the ideal setting for cocktail hour. And pardon us, but we just cannot get enough of these marble-like linens!

These acrylic signs for the seating chart were a labor of love by all involved and a total dream come true for both our clients and our Danielle Roe Events Team! An airy runner and lush garlands added a delicate touch to this distinctly modern large scale signage.

Let’s hear it for the mix of white chairs, wood tables, marble-print linens, slate colored china and black flatware for a total win! An added bonus was the pop of this look against the green manicured lawn. The alternating arrangement of farm tables and round tables was the perfect design for this guest count and space. Our Danielle Roe Events team is elated with the final look and hope you enjoy all of these pictures as much as we do!

Earthy and Modern at Beatnik Studios: Jessica + John

A dash of modern styling plus a touch of earthiness set the perfect backdrop for this couple’s love story to unfold. When Jessica + John appropriated the honor of planning their special wedding day to our Danielle Roe Events team, we were thrilled to make all of their matrimony dreams come true! As a well established Sacramento couple, our sweet clients opted for the modern industrial aesthetic of Beatnik Studios as their venue of choice. Incorporating crisp white linens within this space, along with touches of gold and organic greenery created a clean, modern look with a bit of boho earthiness- be sure to check out the stunning handmade hanging macrame backdrop! With the help of great #friendors, our team magically flipped this loft-like space from ceremony to reception while guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside. And once the candles were lit, the ambience came to life as light bounced within the brick walls. A wood fired pizza buffet supplied provisions during the dinner hour, a delicious dessert buffet bar of cannoli and toppings provided a sweet treat, and the dance floor was packed for the remainder of the evening. Party Vibes from the Westfield Southcenter 50th Anniversary Celebration

With stars in our eyes as one of our trusted vendors asked our team to partner in the production of a 50th Anniversary Celebration for the Westfield Southcenter location, we immediately began dreaming of the magic this event might include.  After collaborative planning and several enjoyable trips to the Seattle region, we were thrilled to be a part of the design and production of this commemorative anniversary celebration!  Contemporary elements, creative entertainment, and a striking use of bold red made for one memorable fete.  A fabulous bar with tasty food stations to enjoy, as well as live entertainment in the form of physical theater that was certainly showstopping, and the infusion of the venue's created a celebratory space for guest to dine and enjoy.  We could not be more thankful to partner with this wonderful venue team and were honored to be a part of producing this distinct celebration!

Clean Green and White For a Romantic Night: Adrienne + Adam

Don't let this simple color palette fool you- this wedding we were thrilled to design and produce was over the top amazing thanks to our vibrant clients, Adrienne and Adam! On a picturesque fall day this couple said their "I Do's" at the stunning Kimpton Sawyer hotel in downtown Sacramento.  The ceremony was set in front of breathtaking scenery with a gorgeous modern arch to frame the action.  Guests were treated to a ballroom draped in beautiful layers of ecru and a refreshingly clean palette of white with loads of lush greenery.  Candlelight added to the modern, clean ambience while guests and our clients dined and danced the night away.  As always, we could not have done with without all of our amazing #friendors.  And we are elated for Adrienne and Adam and wish them happiness always!

Fall Event Design Inspiration

It's no secret here at Danielle Roe Events that we adore a great modern design for event aesthetics.  It is also no secret that we have a major crush on our rockstar "friendors
 (aka vendors) without whose help we would not be able to produce the fabulous events that we do.  So when one of our favorite friendors, Standard Party Rentals, reaches out with an offer to stage their Sacramento Showroom, of course we jump right up with dreamy design inspiration and stage away.  We opted for current trends with fall-inspired design touches, and staged a welcoming cocktail table with a nature-inspired gold print and a sample escort card display.  You may have seen a sneak peek of this photo shoot on Instagram, or on the takeover we got to do for the Standard Party Rentals Instagram account! This table design would be ideal for a late summer or fall event.  Textured linens mixed with gold flatware, elegant dinnerware and plenty of candlelight read romantic evening in a modern way.  Plus, adding a splash of bold color with the menu card is a simple and cost effective way to make a colorful, seasonally appropriate statement on your guest tables. And please let us know what you think of this napkin fold- we thought it was just so pretty with this modern elegance look!

We are very fond of these new Portofino chairs from Standard Party Rentals- they are so versatile for many occasions and complimented this elegant tablescape with the perfect modern touch of warm wooden tones.

For a second look in this showroom, we dressed a farm table in a textured leather runner and topped it with a design that would work well for anything from a modern wedding to a celebratory family dinner.  We just love the juxtaposition of the elegant glassware with the rustic flatware and candle holders.  To complete the look we kept the floral neutral and added striking black chairs.

We seriously could not get enough of these completely trend-setting acrylic place cards by the one and only Swoonable!

Our third table design featured an updated look for the blush and gold look.  A rich velvet linen in gray anchored a whimsically draped rose-colored table runner, and candle sticks in a modern concrete with a touch of gold added the perfect amount of metallic to coordinate with the gold flatware.  We loved pairing the patterned napkin with the smoky colored chargers, and the addition of an elegant menu card with marbled detailing finished the look.

To add a touch of masculinity to the space we enjoyed staging this modern cigar bar lounge.  Don't miss the masculine quotes from some famous love stories! Can't you just picture this as the perfect lounge space to take in a sunset from a rooftop deck?

There was one lone table sitting unused in the back of this showroom so of course we styled it on the whim- a voilá, a perfect place for a date night appeared!

Contemporary Wedding Design at Sacramento's Kimpton Sawyer Hotel- As Seen on Green Wedding Shoes!

With its opening coinciding with the heart of engagement season, the brand new Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in downtown Sacramento is a true breath of fresh modern air for Northern California and destination couples. Featuring sleek finishes mixed with wood and other natural elements, the space was the perfect fit for this contemporary, airy and heavily texture driven styled shoot. Designed and produced by Danielle Roe Events and Parker Nichols Events the day was captured by world renowned adventure photographer, Charleton Churchill. Delicate versions of masculine pieces such as leather accents in the paper suite created by Love Notes Paper, matte black flatware from Theoni Collection and washed stone dishware from Standard Party Rentals, effortlessly paired with the soft textures of velvet linens by La Tavola Fine Linens and the soft glow of candlesticks throughout the space. Set-off by a stunning hanging floral installation, Shannon Mahoney, from Thistle and Honey Floral Design, incorporated organic, foraged textures with delicate blooms to reinforce the juxtaposition between natural textures and clean, modern florals. The immensely talented Amanda Ngo, of Paper Heart Patisserie, brought modern dessert design to a new level with a three dimensional geometric neutral palate cake that, displayed against a natural cork wall, was a standalone piece of art.

A New Year's Eve Wedding Full of Sparkle, Tradition, and Contemporary Design

Thinking back to the beginning of 2018 may seem like forever ago, but for us at Danielle Roe Events it was a night we will always remember.  We had the pleasure of ringing in this new year in style with Kerri + Julian, our fun-loving, trendy clients, at their amazing wedding at the Kimpton Sawyer hotel in downtown Sacramento.  Our clients opted for a clean palette of blue, white and gold, so we embraced this fully and worked with the stunning modern elements at the Sawyer to create a wedding befitting of this awesome couple.  Welcoming the indoor-wedding trend into their wedding day design, our team arranged for gorgeous drapery to frame Kerri and Julian's ceremony space.  For the reception, gold sequin table runners on top of crisp white linens made a glamorous statement, while the candlelight from loads of candles in glass pillar vases created a delightful ambience in the grand ballroom.  And please, who does not want one of these splendid blue bridesmaid dresses?  Guests dinned and danced the night away in the candlelight, and the new year for these newlyweds was rung in with cupcakes and fireworks.   It was a great honor to work with this couple and Kerri and Julian we wish you love and happiness always!

Modern Details for Modern Love

It is really a dream come true for our Danielle Roe Events team to work with awesome vendors for any event, including a stunning photo shoot at an incredible hotel in downtown Sacramento.  Remember when we shared this behind-the-scenes video from our Modern Love editorial feature with Real Weddings Magazine at the enviable Kimpton Sawyer Hotel? (And truth be told, we really do love to embrace this modern trend that is appearing everywhere!) Each of our #friendors vendors from this day truly pushed the envelope in terms of providing fresh and completely modern details and decor to match the modern ambiance of the Kimpton Sawyer.  As we designed, styled and coordinated this shoot we established a color palette or whites, black, and marble with touches of gold.  Accents such as geometric vases and gold candlesticks paired beautifully with touches of marble throughout the design.  Our model absolutely rocked it with every dress and jewelry combination and truly represented as a strong, confident modern woman.  You can view the whole feature from the Winter/Spring 2018 Real Weddings Magazine issue here.  And be sure to keep an eye out for the geode decor included in this shoot and the marble frosted cakes!

Midtown Sacramento Event: The Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for the Arts, New Home of B Street Theater

Showcasing twelve amazing theater shows for B Street Theater and coordinating a grand opening event at the beautiful new Sofia Tsakopoulos Center for the Arts in midtown Sacramento had our Danielle Roe Events team thinking #NBD.  In real life though, our team was working in dream-team mode for this awesome client and the opening gala for their new state-of-the-art facility known simply as The Sofia.  Staged, literally, in the heart of Midtown Sacramento, this beautiful new theater houses two main stages full of all the most modern amenities and newest technologies,  as well as a welcoming spacious lobby and adjoining courtyard, with ample additional rooms for the theater company to conduct rehearsals and arrange office space.  To highlight each of the 12 stage shows scheduled by B Street, our team worked with a few amazing #friendors to coordinate decor, floral, food, and entertainment.  Luxury linens draped tables in shades of aqua throughout each of the rooms, brought a sense of cohesion and flow to The Sofia space, and allowed for thematic decor and food stations to be highlighted in various rooms throughout the gala event.  A band rocking out to air guitar, a pirate chest full of bounty, a mini putting green, live acoustic guitar, jell-stuffed doughnut holes, and tag art were just a few highlights from the evening.  Take a look at the pictures to see how each of the twelve B Street Theater stage performances for this year were highlighted during The Sofia's grand opening gala.

2018 Wedding Trends: Modern Love at the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel in Sacramento

Happy dance, jump for joy, twirl and repeat. This day at the stunning new Sawyer Kimpton hotel in downtown Sacramento had us feeling over-the-moon that we got to design, coordinate and produce this first- ever staged shoot at this new venue, which is definitely what dreams are made of when it comes to venue magic. Working with the stunning architecture of the Kimpton Sawyer, including the 20-foot ceilings with glass window walls and the beautiful natural textures infused throughout the space, we brought in design details of marble, gold and geode shapes to stage the ultimate modern wedding.  An incredible team of vendors (who we like to call our #friendors) came together to make this whole modern wedding vision come together.  Take a look at the behind-the-scenes video now featured on Real Weddings Magazine!

Sonoma Wine Cave Wedding Dreams Come True: Karri + Ricardo

When your clients are totally fun-loving, in search of a perfect destination location and ask to infuse plenty of creative aspects into their wedding day, this Danielle Roe Events team is all full of the feels.  With a reception set in the Gloria Ferrer Wine Caves, our team brought in rich jewel tone colors in the form of blue colored glassware and bold navy napkins, along with dramatic florals in hues of merlot, pink, peach, and green.  Ivory linens draped over guest tables brought a touch of light to contrast with the rustic wooden wine barrels and highlight the whimsical papel picado floating above. We would like to give it up for literally the hottest wedding favors, in the form of Cholula Hot Sauce. As we never underestimate the power of music, the mariachi band- unexpectedly- created the sweetest moment for this joyful couple.  There was plenty of flavor in this wedding, including yummy fresh made churros con chocolato for a late night snack, to be enjoyed and we can hardly contain our excitement because our sweet client's wedding was featured in the Sonoma Magazine! Be sure to catch the nod to Spanish tile on the paperie and the EDIBLE SPANISH TILES on THE CAKE!
